This tour encompasses two of Zambia’s top national parks – South Luangwa, and the Lower Zambezi. We base ourselves initially in the Luangwa Valley at Wildlife Camp, set on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the South Luangwa National Park. This park is an unspoilt wilderness area and is renowned for its high population of leopards, as well as large herds of elephants, and great numbers of hippo and crocodile in the river. Lions are commonly seen, as are the indigenous Thornicroft Giraffe and Cookson’s Wildebeest, and hundreds of species of birds. Another flight takes us to the Lower Zambezi, and to Chongwe River Camp situated under an acacia canopy on the confluence of the Zambezi and Chongwe Rivers. With a backdrop of scenic mountains, and views across the river to World Heritage Mana Pools, this is truly a beautiful setting. The Lower Zambezi National Park is a pristine sanctuary, and a picturesque wilderness offering exceptional birdlife and great game viewing opportunities, available on day and night game drives, by open safari vehicle, canoe and motorboat.
