Accommodations: There are 2 categories of guest rooms, 2 categories of studios, and 5 types of suites available. All have a modern Hawaiian look, with soothing sand-and-cream tones complemented by dark-polished furniture and carpeted floors. Standard in all are air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, phones, complimentary high-speed internet, in-rooms safes, irons/ironing boards, hairdryers, and coffee makers with complimentary Kona coffee. Most rooms have microwaves and mini-fridges. Studios add stoves, toasters, and dinnerware. Suites have full kitchens. Children under 17 years of age stay for free (in room with parents).

Dining & Entertainment: Each morning, you can enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast with fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, coffee, juice, and tea. The hotel lacks a restaurant of its own, but there are easily a dozen dining options within a few minutes walk of the property. A top choice is Duke's Restaurant & Barefoot Bar, named for Duke Kahanamoku, the founding father of surfing, and serving authentic Hawaiian cuisine and tropical drinks (try the Hula Pie for dessert). Other top picks for local dining include Cheeseburger in Paradise, Tanaka of Tokyo, and Keoni by Keo's. The Waikiki Beach Walk is home to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and Coconut Willy's a popular bar and nightspot.

Recreation: On-site, there's a salt water swimming pool with a waterfall, and the spa is adjoined by a 6-person Jacuzzi. NOTE: The spa only has a single treatment room, so appointments are limited, but there are several other spa options in the area. Spending a day or an afternoon on Waikiki Beach and browsing what's for sale at the International Marketplace are musts when you're here. Besides the beach, Honolulu has great hiking opportunities like the Diamond Head crater, luaus and feasts celebrating Polynesian culture, horseback and ATV rides, day cruises, tours of filming locations, and historic attractions like Pearl Harbor.
