Resort Description

Picturesque gardens and scenic walkways lined with flowering roses and grand arching palms are what describe this resort, which takes pride in delivering the highest level of services.

The 32 acres of this "10 minutes from everywhere" Mission Valley resort are beautifully landscaped with thousands of palm trees and blooming roses as well as fountains and statuaries.

NOTE: The convention center adjacent to the hotel hosts many events throughout the year, which means business travelers are a significant part of the resort's clientele.

Functional and comfortable, the 966 rooms are in two 10-story towers and ranch-style 1-and 2-story cottage bungalows. Each has 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, air-conditioning, cable TV, a coffee maker, a private bath with a shower and tub, a separate vanity area, a desk, a mirrored wardrobe, and an iron and an ironing board. You have a pool, garden, golf course, or valley view.

When you want something to eat, you have plenty of places to choose from. Trellises Garden Grille, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, specializes in California cuisine. Feel free to ask to have your meal outdoors on the terrace. Several evenings a week, there's live music and dancing. A traditional steakhouse meets an Irish pub at Kelly's. It's open for dinner, has a children's menu, and entertains diners with a lively piano bar a few days each week. Both restaurants require reservations, so plan accordingly.

If you like sports, you'll like Charlie's. Wash down tacos, burgers, and pizza with a local microbrew while watching sports programming on a big-screen TV. The casual Terrace Cafe starts with a breakfast buffet and then serves sandwiches, burgers, and salads throughout the day. For a quick pick-me-up, try the Sunshine Deli.

Take a healing journey at the Bella Tosca Day Spa. It has a sauna, a steam room, and a hot tub, and it offers such intriguing treatments as vichy shower therapy. The resort also has a fitness center and 4 swimming pools. Guests receive preferred tee times at the 27-hole Riverwalk Golf Course, which is across the street. Within walking distance is Fashion Valley, the city's largest shopping mall. You have easy access to the light-rail trolley system, which can take you to Seaport Village, Petco Park, and Qualcomm Stadium. Also nearby are SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park.

Abundant amenities and activities make this a wonderful place to vacation.
